VimpelCom says raises Telegram connection speed 66% to 500 Gbit/s
MOSCOW, Jul 25 (PRIME) -- Russian mobile operator VimpelCom, working under the brand Beeline, has sped up data transfer with messenger Telegram by 66% to 500 Gbit/s to prepare the network for the autumn rise of data consumption, the operator said on July 23 in a statement.
“Beeline expanded the throughput capacity with Telegram by 200 Gbit/s. In such a way, the total throughput capacity amounts now to 500 Gbit/s,” the operator said.
VimpelCom’s clients now can share files and messages and use the other options of the messenger at maximum speed.
According to researcher Sensor Tower, TikTok was the most downloaded application in App Store and Google Play in Europe in April–June and Telegram climbed to the second place from fifth.
